Starbucks, the world's largest company serving coffee and of course the most popular brand too, has revamped its logo. Yes, the Starbucks logo change has taken place, much to the surprise of many, mostly loyal customers. The company has dropped the words Starbucks Coffee that encircled the image in its logo. The original logo gave the company such a big name, but now the company has 2 reasons for the change. They feel that they no longer need to retain the words everywhere they go, and then they are looking to venture out into other business plans, which need not be related to just coffee.
Starbucks CEO, Howard Schultz said, "What is really important here is an evolutionary refinement of the logo, which is a mirror image of the strategy. This is not just, let's wake up one day and change our logo. I've never been more excited about the future of the company, I'll tell you that." Nevertheless, there were quite a few unhappy loyal customers, who were not very pleased with the change, which they felt was unnecessary. In the 40 years of the company's history, this is the 4th time there has been a change in the logo. Remains to be seen if it helps revive the plunging fortunes of one of the world's best known brands. At least we all hope so.
